About The Company 


Our client is a 48 bed acute medical, surgical, psychiatric and obstetric hospital, located in the scenic coastal city of Burnie in Tasmania. They have been in operation since 1998, servicing the north-west community of Tasmania. 

About The Opportunity

They are now looking for a Clinical Nurse Educator & Floor Coordinator to work in the Operating Suite in their hospital in Burnie, Tasmania. 

The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate and support the development of the nursing workforce by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing and evaluating education programs in the operating suite. As this is a small unit you will also need to take on a clinical role as required. 

Reporting to the Director of Nursing through the Nurse Unit Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate nurse education programs and activities in the clinical setting, including core and mandatory programs in collaboration with the NUM
  • Act as a clinical resource person to provide expert clinical advice and recommendations in the selection and utilisation of resources within the operating suite
  • Actively participate in orientation of staff to the service and provide effective supervision instruction and guidance to less experienced RN’s, EN’s and students
  • Liaise with stakeholders to provide educational support and evaluation in relation to staff performance and development
  • Promote patient-centred inter-professional learning/education

About You 

The successful candidate will have 5+ years post graduate experience encompassing all aspects of the operating suite and have NMBA registration. Previous experience as an Educator would be desirable but not essential for the role. 

Additionally, any relevant postgraduate qualifications would be beneficial.

This position would suit a professional individual with demonstrated commitment to customer service and excellent communication skills.
