Our client is the native title service provider for the Noongar people, who are the traditional owners of the South West of Western Australia. Our client works to progress the resolution of native title claims while also advancing and strengthening culture, language, heritage, and society.
Our client is seeking an Aboriginal Heritage Officer to join their organisation in Cannington, WA, on a 6 Month Contract, with the potential to earn a Negotiable Salary up to $87,600 per annum pro rata | Negotiable salary between $75,000 - $80,000 pa + superannuation.
The primary purpose of this position is to take responsibility for the protection of Noongar heritage by the management and coordination of the Noongar Standard Heritage Agreement process and other matters arising under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972.
Reporting directly to the Senior Legal Officer some of your responsibilities include:
To be successful in this role you will have 5+ years experience working in Heritage with an Aboriginal managed organisation. Additionally, to be considered for this position you will have experience in administrative procedures and community liaison, preferably in a cross-cultural context.
You must also have a current driver's licence and a tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Social Work, Heritage, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
This position would suit someone with excellent oral and written communication skills who is ready to take on a new challenge and give back.
