Our Client

Operating for over 15 years, our client is a Chartered Accountancy practice that assists their clients with their specific financial requirements. Their services include preparing and lodging income tax returns and business activity statements, preparing financial statements, setting up companies, partnerships, self-managed superannuation funds and trusts.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an Administration Assistant / Trainee Accountant to join their company in Hornsby, NSW, with the potential to earn $35,000 - $50,000 per annum including Superannuation.

This is a full-time role with consistent hours from 8:30 am - 5:15 pm.

The primary purpose of this position is to help with various administrative duties and be trained in bookkeeping, submitting tax returns and various other accounting tasks.

Reporting directly to the Business Owners and Senior Staff some of your responsibilities include:

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and greet clients on arrival 
  • Assist with preparing clients' financial statements, income tax return and IAS/BAS statements 
  • Work closely with the partners and senior staff to build accountancy knowledge 
  • Attend to emails and liaise with the ATO over the phone on a regular basis 
  • General office duties including scanning & filing documents, mail management, ordering stationery etc. 

About You

To be successful in this role you will have a strong level of computer literacy and have experience with the Microsoft Office Suite. This position would suit a recent school leaver or someone studying relevant qualifications at University or TAFE and has an interest in building a career in accounting or bookkeeping.

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong verbal and written communication skills, a high level of organisational skills, and be open to learning.
